Kössen in summer
This lovely village has 3900 inhabitants and is located in a sunny valley basin at 600 m above sea level, between the majestically rising Kaiser Mountains and the somewhat softer mountain slopes of the Kitzbühel Alps.
The following sports activities in beautiful surroundings are on offer: adventure swimming pool in the forest, beach volleyball, two golf courses (18-holes), several tennis courts, cable car, hanggliding and paragliding from the Unterberg, rafting and canyoning in the Kössen Ache, small fishing lake, nature trail, cycle paths, mountainbike runs, fishing, riding and an incomparable network of magnificent hiking or walking paths which have been awarded the Tyrolean Hiking Path Quality mark.
Social attractions for all the family: local festivals, folkloric evenings, barbecues and dances, coach trips, children's entertainment afternoons (Gaudi) in the village square, adventure playground at Eurocamp as well as guided walks/hikes and cycle tours.
Also worth a special visit in Kössen (apart from the Baroque parish church) is the Maria Klobenstein pilgrim's church, a sanctuary of three chapels and a split rock of approx. 10 m in height.
